Paul joined Graham Withers & Co not long after he qualified as a solicitor, in 1979, and became a partner in 1982. His family roots are in Somerset, though he was born in Farnborough. He has been based in Shropshire since 1958 and went to The Priory Boys Grammar School in Shrewsbury, and then to Trinity College Cambridge, where he read modern languages and converted to law after that.
Paul’s main areas of work are property law (including landlord and tenant) other than residential conveyancing, commercial law, and civil dispute resolution, with a particular interest in disputes relating to wills and estates. He is the firm’s money-laundering reporting officer.
Paul’s main interests outside work are literature and music. He plays the violin (badly, as an adult beginner some years ago) and bridge (not too badly). He used to row, but those days are long gone.
He has been a trustee of the Shrewsbury CT Scanner Appeal since 1988.
